Episode 46: The Eureka Stockade (169th Anniversary)

Welcome back to another episode of You're Missen the Point Podcast. This Sunday (December 3rd 2023) marks the 169th anniversary of the Eureka Stockade, arguably on of the most important events in Australian history.
It marks the day when the common man stood up to government overreach, brutality and oppression, establishing the well known Australian mentality of supporting the underdog, overcoming adversity and standing up for what is just and right. 
This historical event of 1854 sowed the seeds for democracy in Australia and challenged the status quo of the monarchy. Australia's very own rebellion if you will.
To help me discuss this topic I was joined by Old Man Raven, a man with a love of history and sense of patriotism that very much comes across in his research and reverence for the men and women of the Eureka stockade. Stella jumped on board for this one too, providing her own insight and perspective during this conversation.

Union of the Unknowns ep.62 - Digging Into Indigenous Roots (Guest Show)

If you have been keeping up with the referendum for Constitutional change that recently took place in Australia (Oct 14th '23) you will understand why absolute clarity on these topics is of grave importance to all present & future generations of Australians & all people of the World who value the frayed freedoms that we still have left to pass on to all children.

ConspiracyTheatre 3000 - Episode 9: Planes, Trains and Automobiles (Breakdown)

Conspiracy Theatre 3000 is back for an American comedy and Thanksgiving classic! That's right folks, it's getting cold outside and turkey season us upon us. It's time to settle in, make a nice cup of hot chocolate, surround yoursleves with loved ones and listen to this episode breakdown of the 1987 John Hughes cult classic "Planes, Trains and Automobiles". 
The film tells the story of Neal, a high-strung marketing executive, and Del, a good-hearted but irritating shower curtain ring salesman, who become travel companions when their flight is diverted and embark on a three-day odyssey of misadventures trying to get to Chicago in time for Neal's Thanksgiving Day dinner with his family.
If you haven't seen this film yet go and watch it before Thanksgiving! November is a time to be thankful.  Above all we are thankful that we can get together to breakdown these amazing films for you all to listen to.
