Dark Shadows (Breakdown) w/Julia from the Cosmic Peach Podcast

Welcome back for another episode of You're Missen the Point Podcast. Today I have a fantastic collaboration between myself and Julia from the Cosmic Peach Podcast. That's right Julia and I are back with another childhood favourite film breakdown of the 2012 supernatural, dark comedy 'Dark Shadows'.
Dark Shadows tells the tale of the Collins family. Starting off in the year 1752, with Joshua and Naomi Collins and their young son Barnabas. Setting sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). 
A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harbouring their own dark secrets. 
Julia and I will continue to breakdown our childhood favourites in the coming months, watch this space! Last breakdown was all about Bigfoot and cryprids. This time it's all about dark magic and witchcraft! We started off the episode sharing our general thoughts about the film and how it made its way in as a favourite childhood film.

Amen or Amun-Ra? And The Origins of the Hyksos w/Hank and Kyle (Guest Show)

Welcome back for another episode of You're Missen the Point Podcast. This week I have a fantastic bonus episode for you all. Earlier this month I was invited on to the "6+4+3=Conspiracy Podcast" by Hank and Kyle to discuss the origins of the word Amen and whether it has any connection with the ancient Egyptian god Amun-Ra.
You all know I’m a massive geek when it comes to language, etymology and the origin of words. Combine this with the historical and theological perspectives I was absolutely stoked to have this conversation. 
After I started my research for this episode I was absolutely floored with what I found out. What seemed like a simple bit of historical research around a name, its origins and meaning took on a life of its own. Forcing me to reflect what I thought I knew and ask myself some very interesting questions.
Now I don’t want to give too much away but this research led me to the story of Exodus and the Northern Egyptian Kingdom of the Hyksos. Which many history savvy people would know weren’t ethnic Egyptians rather a semitic people from the Levant region that invaded and adopted Egyptian culture ruling the north for 108 years. 
How this links to the Amen and Amun-Ra controversy is a long story and I hope you enjoy hearing it as much as I did researching it.

Ryan then shared his thoughts on the film "Act of Valor" and why it's always fun to watch an action flick.

Christian Conspiracy Coalition (The Noahide Laws)

Welcome back for another episode of Christian Conspiracy Coalition. A place where the best minds in the conspiracy realm gather to share and discuss their faith, Christianity and the spiritual war thrust upon humanity.
On its surface the 7 Noahide Laws are presented as a moral framework for humanity should live their lives by. Sounds pretty good right? Or does it? What is often overlooked is that these are laws exclusively for gentiles (those not of the Hebrew faith).
Far too often the term "Judeo-Christian" is thrown around without truly realising the disconnect and disparity between the two. On Today's show the panel have a closer look at the Noahide Laws, what they mean for Christians and humanity as whole. 
John 15:12-14 states, "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater live has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you". 
In that spirit we come together as a group of friends with common cause, to spread the word, speak truth and share our knowledge with others.
