In today's episode we discuss a topic that has become very blurred by political discourse and changes in cultural dynamics and norms, Sexual Education. When did the 'birds and the bees' talk move away from biology into the realm of gender ideology and sexual exploration? We will be discussing our own points of view on this subject and why we think this has happened. As always we seek to give parents and families a little insight how the education system works, from private to public and everything in between (homeschool).

Conspiracy Theatre 3000 - Episode 5: Idiocracy (Breakdown)

"Welcome to Conspiracy Theatre 3000 we love you". 
We are back and we have some big news! Conspiracy Theatre 3000 has a new co-host, Ryan Dean from the Dangerous World Podcast. But don't fret Andy isn't going anywhere he will be back as soon as he can. The man is busy and absolutely killing it over at the Deep Share Podcast. While Andy is off doing his thing Ryan has stepped up to the plate to help us breakdown some of our most beloved and favourite films of all time. 
We kicked things off with the Mike Judge 2006 comedy cult classic "Idiocracy". A story of Corporal Joe Bauers (played by Luke Wilson), a decisively average American, who is selected as a guinea pig for a top-secret hibernation program but is soon forgotten, awakening to a future so incredibly moronic he's easily the most intelligent person alive.
This one was a great change of pace, a hilarious "documentary" of times to come. It was a belly full of laughs between mates. So get ready to join Drew, Bob and Ryan as we breakdown "Idiocracy" for hidden symbolism, classic conspiracy tropes, messaging and much much more.

Episode 38: Losing Faith VS Finding it w/John the Fed

Welcome back for another episode of You're Missen the Point Podcast. Today I am joined by friend of the show (John the Fed) host of the brand new show "How the hell did we wind up here" podcast. 
John and I started off talking back when he was just a listener of the show. We had some quality conversations behind the scenes about religion, faith and our place in the world. And now he has his own show!
This was a conversation I have wanted to have on the show for sometime now. Both John and I have almost crossed paths when it comes to our journey faith and religion. I started my life as someone lacking faith and found it. Whereas John is someone raised within the Southern Baptist Church and has begun to stray from his spiritual and religious beliefs over the past few years. 
It is always great talking with John and it was fantastic being able to have a respectful conversation that many struggle to have when discussing personal beliefs, religion and faith. 
 
We went on to discuss;
- Johns background, upbringing and early life. 
- The Southern Baptist Church. 
- What made John begin to question his faith and the institution of the church.- The Covid years and it's impact on how John views the world.
- Comparing our experiences and how we managed to cross over into each others starting points.
